FAQ

Why did you start Jet-Guest?

As jet charterers ourselves, we were fed-up with the brokers' services, namely:

  • The transaction not being transparent.
  • Brokers acting like middlemen or principals.
  • Brokers buying wholesale and selling retail to us.
  • The high charter prices we were being charged.
  • Not receiving the full price savings possible.
  • Not seeing the much cheaper empty-legs.
  • Not seeing the actual offers made by jet operators.
  • Not having the choice of jets best-suited to our needs.
  • Not contracting directly with the jet operator.
  • Not having a charter agreement to protect our interests.
  • Not knowing the brokers' commission or mark-up.

How is Jet-Guest different?

Jet-Guest is very different from other brokers. Here's how:

  • Jet-Guest is completely transparent in our dealings on your behalf.
  • Jet-Guest is a true charter broker that works exclusively for you, the charterer, not the jet operator.

What does Jet-Guest do about safety?

Jet-Guest’s pays the utmost attention to safety.

  • Jet-Guest provides a pro-forma charter agreement stipulating many safety requirements not found elsewhere. See items: 2-Crews, 3-Safety of Operations, 4-Regulations, 5-Certifications/Insurance, 16-Confidentiality, 21-International Operations. The charterer is free to use or amend any terms of this template, including those relating to safety.
  • Jet-Guest  can request independent safety audit reports from Aviation Research Group/US (ARG/US) and Wyvern. For more detailed information about the independent safety auditing companies, please visit their websites by clicking the above links. Jet-Guest itself does not audit the safety of jet operators.

  • Jet-Guest lets you choose the jet best suited to your needs.

Does the jet leave from where and when I want?

You decide what hour, what day and what airport you depart and what airport you land.

  • However, if you do have some flexibility on departure time, day and airport, it helps us to negotiate lower prices.

How does Jet-Guest treat me and the jet operator as principals?

Jet-Guest’s charter agreement establishes as principals you as the charterer and the jet operator as your counterpart.

  • Other brokers hide the identity of the jet operator.
  • Other brokers insert themselves in the middle of the transaction.
  • Other brokers insist you sign their flight contract and they have a secret agreement with the jet operator at different terms and lower prices.
  • Jet-Guest calls its charter agreement "pro-forma" because you, as a principal, are welcome to change it in any way you see fit.
  • Jet-Guest acts as a true broker like a real estate broker.

How does Jet-Guest’s charter agreement address my interests?

Jet-Guest's pro forma charter agreement has many clauses addressing your interests, e.g.:

  • Fly the most direct route possible.
  • Have insurance and name you as additional insured.
  • Include the maximum possible charges in the charter price.
  • Be paid only after take-off not days before the jet operator has performed.
  • You have the right to make changes to Jet-Guest’s pro-forma charter and/or have it reviewed by your counsel.
  • Contracts from other charter brokers have hardly a sentence protecting your interests.
  • The terms and conditions of contracts provided by most brokers and jets protect their interests only.

What savings can I expect from using Jet-Guest as my broker?

Jet-Guest has achieved savings of 50% over middlemen/brokers and retail or jet-card prices.

  • We have saved approximately $10,000 per trip for our own personal charters.
  • Visit our Prices page for a rough idea of savings. These are asking prices, which we negotiate.
  • We also seek empty-leg flights that can be chartered at a fraction of the regular cost.

How is payment different when using Jet-Guest?

Jet operators and other brokers typically require full payment by wire transfer or credit card when the jet is booked.

  • Jet-Guest's charter agreement provides you the charterer choices:

  • Jet-Guest enables jet operators to interface directly with charterers.
  • Jet-Guest's charter agreement is clear and fair to both parties.
  • The jet operator is a principal in the transaction with the charterer.
  • Every concession the operator makes helps entice a charterer to fly private.
  • Concessions the operator makes don’t go into the pocket of a middleman.
  • Through good service and prices, the operator can establish a brand directly with the charterer.

Why choose Jet-Guest for special needs (medical and pets) flights?

Jet-Guest is particularly sensitive to special needs charters, particularly for the elderly, the sick and for pets.

The principal reason we charter for our own personal use is:

  • To avoid my partner’s mother battling her way through the commercial airline system.
  • To transport some of our nine dogs to and from Aspen four times a year.
